Adventure and glory await!Adventure and glory await in Pieces of Eight, a pirate ship combat game played with minted metal coins. A stack of coins held in your hand represents your ship. The coins you choose and the order you put them in determine your ship's strengths. You use your coins' special abilites to destroy your opponent's coins one by one, to expose the Captain buried in his ship and take him out!

Enter the age of blood and gold with either The Cursed Blade or The Maiden's Vengeance ship sets. Each includes all the coins one player needs to construct his ship, and the only limit to the number that can play is the number of sets you have. The coins in each set are not randomized, and buying one of each gives you all the coins you need to construct any legal ship.

GenCon High Seas Tournaments

A limited number of advance sets of The Cursed Blade and The Maiden's Vengeance will be available at GenCon, so we'll be running four tournaments at the show — and running them right out of the Atlas Games booth (#1321) to highlight how easy it is to play Pieces of Eight anywhere. Read the full details on the Atlas blog, or stop by the booth to get a schedule.

Pieces-of-Eight.com Goes Live

If you're reading this, you're already aware that pieces-of-eight.com no longer simply forwards to the www.atlas-games.com Pieces of Eight page, but now has its own website. Check back as we expand the offerings! (And make sure you check out that page, as well as this one — it's got information and downloads that haven't made their way over to this site, yet!)

Promotional Captain

We've been giving away our promotional Captain coin since Origins. If you'll be at GenCon, you can pick one up there, but if you won't, they're also available through Warehouse 23 while supplies last. See the announcement on the Atlas blog for more information.

Reference

In addition to the Pieces of Eight cheat sheet PDF, you can also now download a print-and-fold PDF booklet that packs all the reference you could want into a credit-card sized booklet. (Blow-by-blow instructions on how to fold it are forthcoming. For now, you ought to be able to work it out with a little trial-and-error if you remember to fold on the grey lines and cut on the dotted ones.)
